I hope you have been doing good today. As I said before, October, the new month, and a spookif-ied month to be reading and writing. This time I’m going to talk about my writing goals.
This month should be me doing some preparation for Nano, yes, you guessed it Preptober. Well, if you all didn’t know I might be having an operation, or recovering from it in November – YIKES! But if all goes well, I can and will participate in Nanowrimo 2018 ~ woo-hoo!
Praying for that to come. Okay, without further ado, let’s jump right into the goals.
The first goal I NEED to do is to keep writing on my current working progress (which I call it Project Fire) no matter whatever I’m working on. You’ll understand what I meant when I tell you my 2nd goal.
Second is in every first week of every month; I’m going to be working on my blog. So, I’ll be posting blog posts about writing, reading, book reviews, fun tags, random thoughts about things I find interesting (who can top writing?), ETC, so stay tuned!
At the same time, I’ll be working on my narrative poetry (which is like taking freaking long – am trying to keep it poetic, but errrrr… it is the hardest to write. Still I’m not giving up). I want to finish it by this month, and so I can work on my Nano Project. This is going to be a bumpy road but I don’t mind, because Life is a Challenge, and a Challenge you will need to face.
And then in November, yes you heard it, Nanowrimo begins. If you don’t know what it is about, then prepare to be overload with important information. You have been warned. Nanowrimo is a National Novel Writing Month, hence the world Na-no-wri-mo that happens every year in November. Who knew? Anyone in the world can enter even writer-alien friends from outer space. Writers have to attempt to write a 50,000 word manuscript from the 1st day of November until the last day of the month.
That is the tough break but it is worth to try. I have not succeeded in one yet. So this year, hopefully, I’m going too! During this month, I am going to write a complete new genre, and a new story. This happened because one day I was thinking to myself how come I always add a fantasy character or element to each story I write, which I didn’t believe myself, and so I opened my document of unfinished stories, and saw I do have more fantasy stories than not. So I decided to challenge myself to write in a different genre, indicating I made a pact to myself that I could write a contemporary fiction story. And so I got started. I know, that sounds strange, but….okay I am going to stop now.
Well, that is all from me. What are your writing goals this month? Are you participating in Nanowrimo? Let me know in the comments.
Till next time.
