My 2019 Word of the Year

This year is the year that I…

To those, who have been following me on Instagram for a while now will know what my 2019 word is, but for those who don’t, I am about to share with you!

Drum roll please *tum..tum..tum..tatarum!*

Fitting word for the new year, don’t ya say?

*takes a deep breath*

I was working on a fantasy series since 2016, and recently, it just hit me like a ton of bricks that I have taken too long to write this book. It is a series, and I am still writing book 1. What am I doing?

I am aware that everyone has their own pace.

I had time but I didn’t make the time for it back when I was a university student. There were loads of assignments, but if I had made time for writing my novel, perhaps 100 words a day, I may have completed it by now.

And now, I wouldn’t be stuck redoing everything, and rewriting the outline (which is, by the way, going great!) I don’t know why I am feeling like this. But I want to get it over and done with. This feeling my INNER VOICE telling me that I REALLY NEED to complete that draft.

INNER VOICE: If not, when? WHEN are you gonna finish it?

The first draft is always not amazing. But what matters the most is written and not a blank page. How will you fix a page that is not written? Stop putting it on hold ’cause you’ll never complete the quest. Stop waiting for the right moment, you won’t see it unless you go after it.

That’s it, I’m taping my fingers onto the lappie.

There are so many stories I want to share with the world, want to explore these stories with you, and I cannot get stuck in writing Book 1 only. I have to be persistent and do it. Give it my all and finish it.

So, this year, no, from this day onwards, I am maintaining my butt in the chair, and I will continue writing…writing…writing…until I #finishthatdraft. I am not going to dilly dally!

Well, that is all from me. Back to outlining my brains out!

Before I sign out, I am curious to know your 2019 word too! Drop it in the comments!
